Francis Ng, the seasoned actor with over four decades of captivating audiences, stands tall as one of Hong Kong’s shining stars in the movie realm.
Despite his impressive achievements, like clinching the esteemed Golden Horse Award for Best Actor, there are moments where even the keenest eyes might miss him.
Recently, a heartwarming tale emerged from a humble ice cream stall in Penang, shared on Xiaohongshu. The stall owner recounted a delightful encounter with Ng, a distinguished figure in Hong Kong cinema, who casually strolled in to grab some ice cream.
Interestingly, the owner failed to recognize the renowned actor at first glance. It took the observant eye of a female fan, who snapped a photo of Ng indulging in his icy treat, to unveil the celebrity amidst them.
In the snapshot, Ng appears relaxed, clad in a simple beige tee, a black cap adorning his head, and plaid pants adding a touch of casual charm.
Expressing gratitude to the fan for capturing the moment, the stall owner praised Ng’s down-to-earth nature, which undoubtedly left a lasting impression.
Currently, Ng is believed to be engrossed in filming activities in Penang. Earlier in February, he was spotted alongside Taiwanese actress Janine Chang and Chinese singer Justin Huang, weaving cinematic magic across the picturesque landscapes of Penang.
This isn’t Ng’s maiden venture in the state; he graced its shores back in 2017 for Herman Yau’s “The Leakers” (2018), embodying the role of a Malaysian law enforcer with finesse.
As Ng continues to grace both the silver screen and the streets of Penang, his presence leaves an indelible mark, reminding us of the quiet charm of genuine humility amidst the glitz and glamour of stardom
