Malaysian rapper and filmmaker Namewee has been identified as the last person seen with Taiwanese influencer Hsieh Yun Hsin, who was found dead in a Kuala Lumpur hotel room.
Last Seen Together Before Tragic Discovery

According to Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus, investigations revealed that Namewee was last seen with Hsieh at around 1.40pm in a hotel located on Jalan Conlay. Shortly after, police arrested the rapper for alleged drug possession and use, though he was released after pleading not guilty to charges at the Jalan Duta Court on October 24.
Case Reclassified as Murder
Initially, the incident was treated as a sudden death, but police have since reclassified it as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code due to suspicious circumstances. Authorities are now thoroughly investigating the case from all possible angles.
Comm Fadil said police are reviewing CCTV footage and have taken statements from hotel staff and security personnel to trace the movements of both Hsieh and Namewee.
Timeline of Events

Hsieh arrived in Malaysia on October 20 and was scheduled to leave on October 24. Her body was discovered in a bathtub on October 22, and a post-mortem is currently underway at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
Police confirmed that both post-mortem and toxicology reports are pending to determine the exact cause of death.
Police Appeal for Information
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist the investigation. “Public cooperation is crucial in helping us uncover what really happened,” said Comm Fadil.
On November 2, Namewee publicly denied taking drugs or having any involvement in Hsieh’s death. Investigations are still ongoing, and police are expected to provide further updates soon.
