Kylie Jenner recently shared her ongoing struggle with postpartum depression, revealing how it influenced her decision to change her son’s name twice before finally settling on Aire.
In an interview with British Vogue for their September issue, the 27-year-old beauty mogul opened up about how this emotional journey left her feeling overwhelmed and even like a failure at times. While her fans knew that her son, initially named Wolf, had his name changed once, Jenner disclosed that she actually renamed him twice.

“My son’s name was Knight for a long time,” she said, speaking about her now two-year-old son Aire. “Even now, my daughter will say, ‘Do you remember when Aire’s name was Knight? … I liked Knight better.'”
Jenner, who shares Aire and her six-year-old daughter Stormi with her ex-boyfriend, rapper Travis Scott, reflected on how her intense emotions during this period made it difficult to settle on a name. She described the “major baby blues” she experienced and how they clouded her ability to make decisions.
“I was just so emotional about things I normally wouldn’t be,” she recalled. “I spent days on the phone with my mom, crying hysterically because I couldn’t figure out his name. I felt like such a failure for not being able to name him. He deserved better, and it really triggered me.”
In March 2022, just a month after her son was born, Jenner announced that he was no longer named Wolf, but she didn’t immediately reveal his new name. It wasn’t until June 2023, over a year later, that she legally changed his name to Aire.
“Now, I tell all my friends to pick the name before the baby arrives,” she added. “Because once the hormones kick in, it’s impossible to make decisions.”
