OPERATION UNDEAD: Thai Zombie Thriller Arrives 24th October in Malaysia

This October, Malaysian audiences are in for a thrilling ride with the release of OPERATION UNDEAD, an exciting Thai zombie action movie directed by Kongkiat Komesiri. The film will hit theaters nationwide on 24th October 2024.

Brought to Malaysian screens by Mockingbird Pictures, with TGV as the local distributor, OPERATION UNDEAD offers a fresh twist on the zombie apocalypse genre, setting its story against the intense backdrop of war.

The movie is set in 1941 and follows Mok, played by Awat Ratanapintha, and his comrades as they face invading forces and a terrifying biological weapon that triggers a zombie outbreak. Mok’s older brother, Mek (Nonkul), is caught between his duty as a soldier and the need to protect his sibling, creating a gripping emotional struggle amid the chaos.

OPERATION UNDEAD features two of Thailand’s top stars—Nonkul (Bad Genius, Love Destiny: The Movie) and Awat Ratanapintha (Girl from Nowhere, Haunted Universities 3). Despite having known each other for over a decade, this is their first time sharing the screen. Their portrayal of brothers adds emotional depth to the film’s fast-paced horror and action.

Director Kongkiat Komesiri shared his inspiration: “I wanted to make a zombie film that wasn’t just about scares, but also about the human experience. OPERATION UNDEAD is about survival, love, and the true cost of war. I think audiences will be drawn in by the intensity, chilling atmosphere, and strong performances.”

The teaser trailer, poster, and movie stills are out now, giving fans a sneak peek of what’s to come. Make sure to catch OPERATION UNDEAD in Malaysian cinemas starting 24th October 2024.
