In today’s uncertain world, the Malaysian Health Ministry is keeping a close watch for any new threats, including the mysterious “Disease X” that might come from an unknown source. Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, a key figure in the Health Ministry, assured us that they’re always on high alert, thanks to the World Health Organization (WHO) keeping an eye out for new diseases.
Disease X, a name given to an unidentified virus, is a potential danger that experts worldwide are worried about. They fear it could be even more destructive than COVID-19. So far, no one has reported any cases of Disease X, but experts are ready for the worst while hoping for the best.

Dr. Zaliha Mustafa also shared some great news about Malaysia’s healthcare infrastructure. Hospital Kuala Lumpur has a new building for the Urology and Nephrology Institute, loaded with modern equipment and more beds. This expansion shows Malaysia’s dedication to healthcare and its readiness for health crises.
Professor Dr. Zamberi Sekawi, a virology expert, emphasizes the need for Malaysia to be ready for Disease X. Even though we don’t know much about this virus, we should take WHO’s warnings seriously. Dr. Zamberi recommends that our government stay in touch with international health organizations to keep an eye on potential cases or outbreaks within our borders.
Dr. Zamberi also reminds us of the importance of preventive measures like wearing masks and frequent handwashing. These actions will depend on how Disease X spreads, whether through the air or fluids. The key message is that we need to be extra cautious and ready to act fast to prevent Disease X from becoming a major problem.
While Disease X remains a mystery, we should be geared up to face it head-on with readiness, a strong healthcare system, and expert advice. In these uncertain times, preparedness is our best defense.
