Perlis Floods Subside as Perak and Kedah Witness a Slight Increase in Evacuees
In the wake of persistent rainfall, Perak and Kedah have seen a rise in the number of flood evacuees, while Perlis is finally breathing a sigh of relief as floodwaters recede. As of this morning, the situation in these northern Malaysian states is being closely monitored.
Perak’s Evacuation Numbers Inch Upward
According to Bernama, Perak has experienced a slight uptick in evacuations, with the number rising to 217 individuals from 62 families compared to 210 from 61 families the previous night. Hilir Perak hosts two relief centers: the Padang Tembak multipurpose hall and the Chikus multipurpose hall, sheltering 109 and 19 people, respectively. Additionally, in Kerian, 23 individuals from four families are seeking refuge at SK Changkat Lobak.
Kedah Witnesses a Nightly Increase

Kedah, too, has observed a rise in evacuations, with 107 people seeking shelter compared to 31 the previous night. The Kedah Civil Defence Force (CDF) disaster management secretariat chief, Suhaimi Zain, revealed that victims in Kota Setar are accommodated at SK Titi Gajah and SMK Alor Merah, opened yesterday to house 76 people from 27 families.
Perlis Finds Relief as Waters Recede

In a positive turn of events, Perlis is no longer grappling with floods, and the Titi Tinggi Hilir hall relief center in Padang Besar has closed its doors at 8 am today. State CDF director Izaimi Daud confirmed that all 41 evacuees from 12 families have safely returned home.
