MyMinda Feature in MySejahtera Offers Online Mental Health Assessment

People of all ages are being affected by the nation’s growing mental health concerns. However, many people who experience mental health symptoms opt not to seek assistance from specialists in hospitals or clinics, frequently out of a fear of external evaluation or a reluctance to discuss their worries with family members.

MyMinda Feature

To address this issue, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has introduced a new feature on the MySejahtera app called “MyMinda,” which allows users to assess their mental health autonomously. Health Minister Dr. Zaliha Mustafa announced this groundbreaking initiative, emphasizing that users can now evaluate their mental health status and stress levels independently by responding to questions provided within the MyMinda feature.

This introduction aligns with MOH’s commitment to improving mental health service accessibility through digitalization, keeping pace with technological advancements. “MyMinda,” as a new component within the MySejahtera app, includes a mental well-being screening, educational psychology resources, and access to psychosocial support services.

Speaking at the World Mental Health Day 2023 National Celebration Media Conference, Dr. Zaliha Mustafa encouraged the public to assess their mental health status through MyMinda. By collecting data from MyMinda users, the MOH aims to gather statistics and perform in-depth mental health analyses for the general public.

This valuable data will help in understanding the mental health status of the population and conducting analyses based on observed symptoms. The MOH also highlighted its commitment to addressing mental health issues with initiatives like early interventions through the National Centre for Excellence in Mental Health (NCEMH), involvement from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the private sector.

Most importantly, individuals facing mental health challenges will have access to early intervention, ensuring that support is readily available for the issues they may be dealing with. MyMinda is a significant step forward in making mental health assessments accessible and destigmatizing discussions about mental well-being.
