Chinese actress Fan Bingbing is set to visit Melaka next month as part of her role as the state’s tourism ambassador. Her visit from June 14 to 16 coincides with the launch of Visit Melaka 2024 (TMM 2024), a campaign designed to reposition Melaka as a premier tourist destination.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh shared the news in a Facebook post on May 27, following a meeting with Jersey Chong, Fan’s international manager, to finalize details of the movie star’s visit.
“I believe the presence of Fan Bingbing, who’s been appointed as ambassador for Visit Melaka 2024, will attract more tourists, especially from China and Asia, to visit Melaka,” he stated.
Fan Bingbing’s appointment as the tourism ambassador is expected to significantly boost Melaka’s appeal to international visitors, particularly from China and Asia, given her immense popularity and influence in the region.
