Sight tells the inspiring true story of Dr. Ming Wang, a world-renowned eye surgeon who overcame significant adversity to become a pioneer in his field. Tan, currently based in the US, expressed her pride in bringing this powerful narrative to a global audience.

“This film is not just a testament to Dr. Ming Wang’s extraordinary life but also a celebration of perseverance, love, hope, and reconciliation,” Tan said in a press release. “As a Malaysian, I am proud to bring Asian stories and talents to Hollywood, bridging cultures and showcasing the diversity that enriches the film industry.”

Her dedication as a producer was key in bringing this inspiring story to life. Tan emphasized the importance of representation in Hollywood, stating, “Hollywood shapes a lot of cultural beliefs for the rest of the world. Through this movie, we want to have more Asian stories and talent represented behind and in front of the camera. Who will tell stories where Asians have been a source of inspiration and force for good if we do not?”

Rachel Tan is no stranger to the spotlight. The 42-year-old is a former Miss Malaysia and the first Malaysian to win TVB’s Miss Chinese International pageant.

In addition to Sight, Tan and her husband Dan Mark, co-founders of Kingstreet Pictures, are working on their next project, a romantic comedy titled Worth The Wait. Based on their love story, the film is currently in post-production and was partially shot in Kuala Lumpur. It stars Lana Condor, Andrew Koji, and Ross Butler.

Rachel Tan continues to make significant strides in the film industry, bringing diverse and inspiring stories to audiences worldwide.
