HK Actor Michael Miu Amazed by Taman Connaught Night Market Food

Hong Kong actor Michael Miu is currently in Malaysia filming his new action drama, Fearless. This visit marks his first trip to the country since 2018 when he shot the web series Guardian Angel.

During his stay in Kuala Lumpur, Miu explored the vibrant Taman Connaught night market in Cheras with his co-stars, including Malaysian actress Tong Bing Yu and Hong Kong stars Sam Lee, Carlos Chan, and German Cheung. Miu expressed his amazement at the lively atmosphere and the variety of food available. “It was my first time visiting the area, and I had some stinky tofu and char kuey teow. I’ll be sure to keep my stomach empty the next time I go there,” the 66-year-old actor shared during a recent lensing ceremony.

The Taman Connaught night market, stretching over 2km with more than 700 stalls, is one of the longest in Malaysia. However, Miu and his co-stars only managed to explore a small portion of it as they were frequently stopped by fans for photos, blocking their path. “We later went to a nearby restaurant but had to leave through the back door as there was a crowd at the entrance. I think I’ll have to wear a mask next time I go there!” Miu exclaimed.

Tong Bing Yu shared several photos on Instagram from their night out, captioning her post: “Being surrounded by tall and handsome guys made me feel like a dwarf.” She also expressed pride in the rich food culture, saying, “Malaysian cuisine is truly worth being proud of.”

Other cast members, including Ng Siu Hin and Julius Brian Siswojo, have also taken to social media to document their short trip, amused by the attention from local fans. Hong Kong actor Philip Keung, who is also part of the Fearless cast, mentioned in a local interview that filming will continue around Klang Valley until September or October. Keung, who owns a property in Penang, has been playing tourist around Kuala Lumpur, sharing his adventures on Instagram.
