Fresh off the heels of their flagship Galaxy S series release, Samsung surprises once again with the unveiling of their latest additions to the Galaxy A lineup: the Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35.
In a departure from previous generations, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 share striking similarities, differing mainly in camera specifications and internal components.
Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 Specifications
Both devices boast expansive 6.6-inch, FHD+ Super AMOLED displays with an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for enhanced durability. While sporting glass backs and the new Key Island bump for tactile button feedback, the Galaxy A55 boasts a sleek metal frame, while the Galaxy A35 opts for a plastic one.

Powering the Galaxy A55 is the Exynos 1480 chipset, flaunting an AMD RDNA2-based GPU, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 houses the Exynos 1380 from its predecessor, with configurations of up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Both devices ship with OneUI 6.1 atop Android 14, promising four years of major Android OS upgrades and five years of security support.
In the camera arena, both phones feature triple rear cameras, including a primary 50MP shooter and a 5MP macro sensor. Notably, the Galaxy A55 upgrades to a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 32MP front-facing camera, while the Galaxy A35 settles for an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 13MP selfie camera.

Beyond specifications, both the Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 pack a punch with 5,000mAh batteries supporting 25W wired charging, Samsung Knox Vault security, stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint sensors, IP67 dust and water resistance, and connectivity options including WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, 5G, and NFC.

While pricing and availability for Malaysia remain undisclosed, UK pricing starts at GBP439 (~RM2,639.52) for the A55 and GBP339 (~RM2,038.55) for the A35. In Indonesia, the 256GB models are priced at IDR4,999,000 (~RM1,510.30) and IDR6,899,000 (~RM2,084.33), respectively. Comparatively, the previous generation Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34 were priced at RM1,899 and RM1,599 in Malaysia, respectively.
