RON95 Petrol Price in Malaysia to Drop to RM1.99/Litre from 30 September

Malaysians can look forward to cheaper fuel soon! Starting 30 September 2025, the price of RON95 petrol will be reduced from RM2.05 to RM1.99 per litre. This new rate comes under the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme, which introduces a targeted subsidy for citizens only.

Who Can Enjoy the Subsidy?

  • Malaysian citizens with a valid driving licence.

  • Non-citizens and large companies will no longer qualify, and must pay around RM2.60 per litre (market price).

  • The government estimates that more than 16 million Malaysians are eligible.

Monthly Quota & Special Groups

  • Each person can pump up to 300 litres of subsidised RON95 per month.

  • E-hailing drivers can apply for a higher quota.

  • Police, military, and B40 households will gain early access before the official rollout.

What You’ll Need

To enjoy the subsidy:

  1. Ensure your MyKad chip is working.

  2. Keep your driving licence valid and up to date.

  3. Use your MyKad at the pump to verify eligibility.

How to Pay

Payment methods are flexible – you can still use cash, debit/credit card, Touch ‘n Go eWallet, or apps like Petronas Setel. For digital users, apps can make refuelling easier without tapping MyKad each time.

A Reward for Malaysians

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the move is a way to honour Malaysians in the spirit of National Day and Malaysia Day. By focusing subsidies on citizens, the government aims to deliver fairer benefits and reduce leakages.

👉 Bottom line: From 30 September, Malaysians will pay only RM1.99 per litre for RON95 — just bring your MyKad, keep your licence valid, and enjoy the savings!
