Ariel Lin Reveals 10-Year Long-Distance Marriage

Taiwanese singer and actress Ariel Lin recently shared intimate details about her love life on the Chinese reality show Heart Signal, where she opened up about the unique challenges of her long-distance marriage.

At 41, Ariel revealed that since marrying businessman Charles Lin in December 2014, they’ve maintained a relationship spanning continents. While Ariel lives in Taiwan, Charles is reportedly based in the United States. To be together, the couple, who share a daughter, must endure a 15-hour flight.

Despite the distance, Ariel embraces the situation, viewing each reunion as a chance to rekindle their romance. “Even after all these years, I still get butterflies when I’m about to see him,” she said, comparing their meetings to the excitement of a first date.

Ariel also noted that physical distance has never been their biggest challenge. Instead, she emphasized the importance of emotional closeness. “Two people may share the same bed yet have different dreams. That is what’s scary,” she explained, highlighting the need for true connection in a relationship.

The actress, best known for her role in In Time With You (2011), believes that the key to a lasting relationship is the willingness to invest emotionally and share every detail of life with each other.

Ariel’s reflections sparked mixed reactions online. Some found it difficult to understand how a long-distance marriage could thrive for nearly a decade, while others saw the distance as a way to keep their love fresh. “I would have just given up,” one netizen admitted. Another offered a different perspective: “It’s because of this distance that each reunion feels like they’re falling in love all over again.”
