Dissy’s Big-Screen Debut: Close Ur Kopitiam – A 2025 CNY Comedy

Dissy, Malaysia’s beloved online creative team known for their bold humor and unique style, is taking a big leap into the world of film with their first Chinese New Year movie, Close Ur Kopitiam. After building a loyal fanbase through their witty online content, Dissy is now making its big-screen debut, and they’ve enlisted popular actor Mark Lee to help ensure the film’s success.

Close Ur Kopitiam is a festive, light-hearted comedy that taps into two beloved elements of Malaysian culture: food and family. Set in a traditional kopitiam (local coffee shop), the film introduces a lively cast of characters and tackles modern topics like social media fame and online scandals. The kopitiam, an iconic part of Malaysian life, takes center stage as a place where the community gathers, filled with warmth, challenges, and plenty of laughter.

The story follows Ah Biao, who inherits his family’s kopitiam and tries unconventional marketing tactics to attract customers. However, his efforts create a stir in the local community, leading to a social media scandal that threatens the business. Through a series of hilarious and heartfelt moments, the film highlights the ups and downs of human relationships while showcasing the rich kopitiam culture of Malaysia.

With Song Bill and Yuriko in lead roles, and a special appearance by veteran actor Mark Lee, Close Ur Kopitiam promises to be a heartwarming and joyful Chinese New Year treat. Directed by Vince Chong, this movie marks an exciting new chapter in Dissy’s creative journey, bringing food, family, and festivity together in a way that only Dissy can.
