In an effort to enhance customer confidence in online shopping, Shopee has introduced a new policy that offers up to 8x Money Back Guarantee for purchases made on Shopee Mall if they turn out to be fake products.

The 8x Money Back Guarantee Explained

Starting from 15th July, Shopee’s new 8x Money Back Guarantee is set to provide unparalleled protection for shoppers in case they fall victim to fake products from the Shopee Mall. The new guarantee has been significantly increased from the previous 2x Money Back Guarantee, signaling Shopee’s commitment to creating a safer environment for its users.

However, it’s essential to be aware of the terms and conditions associated with this guarantee. While the 8x Money Back Guarantee applies up to a final compensation amount of RM5,000, or the full purchase price for items above RM5,000, there is a catch. The guarantee is applicable only to Shopee Mall items priced below RM650.

Let’s break it down with an example: If you purchase an item worth RM500 from the Shopee Mall and it turns out to be counterfeit, Shopee will compensate you with RM4,000. On the other hand, if you buy something worth RM1,000 and discover it’s fake, you’ll receive the upper limit of RM5,000 instead of RM8,000. However, for purchases over RM5,000, you will be entitled to a full refund of the purchase price.

How to Claim the 8x Money Back Guarantee

If, unfortunately, you receive a counterfeit item from the Shopee Mall, claiming the 8x Money Back Guarantee is a straightforward process. Head to the Shopee app, select ‘Return/Refund,’ and choose ‘I received counterfeit product(s)’ as your reason. Provide a detailed explanation of why you suspect the item is counterfeit and submit your request.

Shopee will conduct an investigation to verify your claim. If they confirm that you indeed received a fake item, you’ll need to return the product to the seller. Shopee will then process your refund, ensuring you receive your entitled amount without any hassle.

In addition to the 8x Money Back Guarantee for the Shopee Mall, Shopee is tackling counterfeit products from Preferred Sellers.
