In The Mood For Love is a romantic drama film directed by Wong Kar-Wai and stars Tony Leung Chiu-wai (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Infernal Affairs) and Maggie Cheung (Police Story, Irma Vep), two of the most celebrated Hong Kong actors of all time, as two people whose spouses have an affair together and who slowly develop feelings for one another.

Originally released in 2000, the film received unanimous praise from audiences as well as critics, earning it a nomination for the Palm d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, one of the most prestigious awards in the film industry.

Recently, 4K restorations of Wong Kar-Wai’s celebrated films were released, supervised by the director himself, and including In The Mood For Love.

As well as improving the visual quality of these classics, some released as early as 1988, Wong also recolorized and re-edited some parts of the film, which proved controversial to some fans. It is unclear as to whether or not these restorations are going to be used for GSC’s rerelease.
