Tsang, who is also the general manager of TVB, shared his enthusiasm about the opportunity to film a Chinese New Year movie in Malaysia, a place known for its vibrant celebrations.
“I’m thrilled to be making a Chinese New Year movie here in Malaysia, where the festivities are so lively. I also heard that this is the Southeast Asian country with the most CNY songs,” the 71-year-old said with a smile.
Cantopop singer Edmond So also had high praise for the Malaysian production team, noting their dedication and efficiency.
“They made me feel completely at ease. I hope to collaborate with Malaysia every year,” the 58-year-old remarked.
Money Games, directed by Malaysian filmmaker Matt Lai, is slated for a 2025 release. The film tells the story of Big Boss Zeng (played by Tsang) and his team of undercover agents as they work to dismantle online scam operations. As the scams begin to impact Hong Kong, tensions rise within the team, leading to betrayals fueled by greed. To bring the criminals to justice, the characters must stay united and overcome their own inner struggles.
