When K-pop heartthrob Jungkook decided to give his furry friend Bam the spotlight on Instagram, little did he know it would lead to an overnight sensation. On April 15, Jungkook unveiled @bowwow_bam, a page solely dedicated to his Dobermann companion. In just one day, the account racked up an astounding four million followers.
Dubbed as “Bam’s dad,” the account showcases seven adorable posts featuring snapshots of Jungkook and Bam bonding. Even the account’s description, “Have a good BAM,” cleverly plays on Bam’s name, which coincidentally sounds like the Korean words for “night” and “chestnut,” a nod to Bam’s rich brown fur.
The 26-year-old BTS heartthrob introduced the account to fans via the global fan communication platform Weverse, playfully stating, “I can’t brag about myself now, so I should brag about my baby. I hope you have a great ‘bam’ (night).”
This move comes after Jungkook’s surprising decision to delete his official Instagram account in 2023, which had amassed a whopping 52 million followers. He clarified then that the deletion wasn’t due to any hacking but simply because he wasn’t using the platform anymore.
Fans flocked to Bam’s new account, showering each post with thousands of supportive comments for BTS’s youngest member. Currently, Jungkook is fulfilling his mandatory military service alongside his fellow BTS members, with his discharge set for June 11, 2025.
BTS, a powerhouse in the music industry, continues to make waves both as a group and as solo artists. Jungkook’s solo track “Standing Next To You” has maintained a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for an impressive 19 weeks straight, marking a significant achievement since Psy’s iconic “Gangnam Style” in 2013.
