Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao is still reveling in the honeymoon phase after marrying his longtime manager, Summer Lin, in October 2023. To celebrate Lin’s 51st birthday on June 27, the 37-year-old Mandopop star professed his love in a grand gesture by displaying a heartfelt message on public LED screens in Hangzhou, China.

Hsiao, currently in Hangzhou for his performance in the musical “Rouge,” based on the 1987 Hong Kong supernatural romance drama, made sure Lin’s birthday was unforgettable. He booked three LED screens to flash a special message for her, which he shared in an Instagram post on June 28. The post included a video of Lin driving past the screens, along with aerial photos showing the message on each screen.
The screens together read: “June is summer, summer is Summer, Summer is Lin Yu-hui (Lin’s Chinese name), and Lin Yu-hui is Little Dummy. Today is Little Dummy’s birthday. You will always be my little dummy; we will forever hold each other tight. Happy birthday from your forever love.”
In the video, Lin, grinning widely, playfully questions Hsiao, who is heard but not seen: “Is it good to show everyone these words? Is this right? I’m a professional artiste manager.” Despite her reservations, she laughs upon reading his message.
Hsiao’s caption read: “Happy birthday to my little dummy. Hangzhou has had heavy rain for more than 10 days, but at this moment, the downpour became a drizzle, and our aerial photoshoot went well.”
Lin’s birthday is particularly special for the couple, as Hsiao proposed to her on her birthday in 2023. Lin, who is 14 years older than Hsiao, has been working with him since he rose to fame on the reality singing competition “One Million Star” in 2007. Despite years of rumors about their relationship, it wasn’t until their engagement that they confirmed their romantic involvement. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network
