K-pop Star Rain and HK Actress Charmaine Sheh Dine at Singapore’s Keng Eng Kee Seafood

Singapore’s Keng Eng Kee Seafood has been the talk of the town lately, attracting some big-name stars to its cozy location near Alexandra Village Food Centre. This beloved zi char restaurant recently welcomed two international celebrities: K-pop sensation Rain and renowned Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh.

Head chef and co-owner Wayne Liew proudly shared these exciting visits on his TikTok page. On August 31, he posted a series of photos and videos featuring Rain, the 42-year-old superstar known for his hit dramas like Full House and Red Swan. Rain was in Singapore for the Waterbomb music festival at Sentosa on August 24 and 25, and he made sure to stop by Keng Eng Kee Seafood to enjoy some of the restaurant’s signature dishes, including moonlight hor fun, chilli crab, and coffee pork ribs.

Just a few days earlier, on August 28, Charmaine Sheh also dined at the popular eatery. Known for her role as the ambitious anchorwoman Man Wai Sum in the drama The Queen of News, Sheh looked effortlessly stylish in a striped Miu Miu polo T-shirt. During her visit, Wayne Liew couldn’t resist sharing his excitement on TikTok, calling her one of his favorite stars.

Sheh was in Singapore for an event by local skincare brand Ble de Fonty on August 29. In an interview, she revealed that she’s currently taking a break from filming, reading scripts, and considering new roles. She also shared that a sequel to The Queen of News is in the works.

A known foodie, Sheh has a soft spot for Singaporean cuisine. During her visit in April for Mediacorp’s Star Awards, she indulged in satay at Lau Pa Sat and enjoyed butter crab at Kelly Jie Seafood in Toa Payoh.

It seems that Keng Eng Kee Seafood is becoming a must-visit spot for celebrities craving a taste of Singapore’s best local dishes.
