In her emotional tribute, Torello described Teal as her soulmate and her rock. “Paul, you were my future, my soon-to-be husband, and the love of my life. You filled my lungs with laughter, my stomach with butterflies, and my heart with love. You fought courageously every day, and I promise to honor your memory by finding joy in life, just as you fought to hold onto it. The world is lucky to have had even a moment of your light. I will love you forever.”
Bethany Joy Lenz, who worked alongside Teal in Season 7 of the WB drama, also paid tribute to her friend and colleague on social media. Sharing photos of him from a stage adaptation of The Notebook, she wrote, “Paul Teal had an incredible ability to light up a room without even trying. His bright smile, infectious laugh, and kind heart were magnetic. He was far too young to leave us. I’ll miss you, Paul, and I’m forever grateful for the light you shared with us.”
Lenz also revealed that she had cast Teal in One Tree Hill and directed his first episode.
Teal’s talent extended beyond television, with roles in films like Dark Water and Fear Street: Part Two, as well as appearances in series such as Outer Banks and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
He will be deeply missed.
