Travel Passes You Need to Know About If You are Planning to Take The New MRT Line

Exciting isn’t it? To have a whole range of new MRT line all the way to Putrajaya! So what’s the hype is all about if you may ask. This new Putrajaya MRT Phase 2 line has 36 stations from Kwasa Damansara to Putrajaya Sentral with 10 interchanges and connecting stations, including Titiwangsa, Ampang Park, Chan Sow Lin and Sungai Besi. This also means you can expect a massive change in traffic and less congestion (Hopefully!)

Great things come with great deals we say. If you want a hassle free ride, as a commuter it’s important for you to know some trick and hacks or let’s just say travel passes which make your journey a lot more convenient. Here are some amazing Travel Passes initiated by RapidKL.

1. My50 Unlimited Travel Pass

My50 is an unlimited travel pass that offers 30 days unlimited rides on Rapid KL LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, Rapid KL bus and MRT feeder bus services in Klang Valley. You can now purchase My50 from the Rapid KL Customer Service Office at all LRT, MRT, Monorail and BRT stations and also selected bus hubs. Note that since it is a 30 days pass, every day counts even on the days you are not commuting. Nevertheless, you can enjoy unlimited rides each day as it only counts the days and not the number of rides!

2. MyCity Pass 1-Day & 3-Day Unlimited Rides

MyCity Pass is a travel pass that offers unlimited rides on Rapid KL rail (LRT/ MRT/ Monorail) and BRT network for 1 day and 3 days. It is for only Malaysians. This pass is based on day-cycle count and you can get it at any time of the month.

There are 2 types of MyCity Pass

The 1-Day Pass – RM 15.00 inclusive of RM5 purse value in the Touch N’ Go card and RM5 card price. Minimum RM5 purse value is required to use the 1-Day Pass at all Rapid KL rail and BRT network. Valid for 1 day. This is for the first time purchase.

The 3-Day Pass – RM 25.00 inclusive RM5 purse value in the Touch N’ Go card and RM5 card price. Minimum RM5 purse value is required to use the 3-Day Pass at all Rapid KL rail and BRT network. Valid for 3 days. For first time purchase as well.

3. Keluarga Malaysia Pass

Convenient for group travels, this pass offers one-day unlimited rides for Malaysians on RAPID KL LRT, MRT, MONORAIL and BRT, RAPID KL BUS and MRT FEEDER BUS. It is based on a day-cycle count and can be purchased on weekends (Saturday/Sunday) and public holidays only.

Per pass is priced at RM15.00. Children aged 6 years and below ride for free.

Note that each pass is valid for maximum 4 people only.

How convenient! We are pretty sure some of you may not be aware of the existence of these travel passes. Did you also know in conjunction with the launch of the Putrajaya MRT line, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced the line will be FREE OF CHARGE for commuters until 31st March? Yes!
