Hong Kong actress Elaine Yiu recently opened up about her personal life on the talk show “Hong Kong Marital Affairs.” During the interview, Yiu, 43, was candid about her past relationships and her thoughts on marriage.
When asked if she had ever met someone she envisioned marrying, Yiu responded affirmatively. However, she admitted that the person she had in mind might not have been the right match, and marrying him could have led to divorce. “When you’re unhappy and lost, the people that come into your life often aren’t the right ones. When you’re lost, anyone who comes along feels right,” she explained.
Yiu also shared her experiences with long-distance relationships. She recalled dating a Malaysian man while studying in Australia. Unfortunately, their relationship ended due to the distance. “After completing our studies, I moved back to Hong Kong while he returned to Malaysia. In the end, we broke up,” she said. Yiu hinted that their split might have been influenced by poor communication skills, despite her background in communication studies.
In 2019, Yiu faced controversy when photos of her with then-married businessman Raymond Young surfaced. She was labeled a homewrecker, though she believed Young was already divorced at the time. Reflecting on the incident, Yiu emphasized the importance of clarity and honesty in relationships.
Currently single, Yiu is open to the idea of finding love but is not in a rush to settle down. “It’s not about finding anyone to marry, but meeting the right person. Marriage is a lifelong commitment for me,” she stated. The “Unholy Alliance” star emphasized that she prefers to let things happen naturally rather than forcing a relationship.
